🎤 5 questions with Lauren & Charlie from Jugo Vins & CAV

Instagram account worth following: There are quite a few great local accounts but a few of our favorites include:

  • @santitaura we really enjoy his off day posts when he is cooking outdoors with friends and family. He also posts video tutorials for making local dishes!

  • @lifestyle_mallorca which i'm sure everyone already knows is such a great account showcasing our beautiful island.

  • @madmax_fluffyroad which has nothing to do with food/wine or Mallorca but the content is A+

Favorite place to swim: We live in Puigpunyent but we spend a lot of time out by the winery in Santa Margalida so our fav spot for a family dip is on the east coast at a beach called Na Patana. The beach is one of the last dog friendly beaches on the island and the views are stunning. In the summer people are riding horses up and down the coast and the sunsets are just epic.

A place worth eating at: Restaurant s'Estanc Vell in Vilafranca de Bonany. They arguably have one of the best natural wine lists on the island paired with a low-key Mallorquin menu.

Who is making a product we should know about: The butiffaron from Ca'n Pere des carreró in Maria de la Salut. We also frequent Fornet de La Soca almost weekly for the squid ink empanada but truly everything there is outrageously good. We're also big fans of Cafe Canamunt for a quick llonguet.

Best month of the year in Mallorca: June! Preparation for vintage usually starts at some point in July and then it is pure madness until the end of September so we try and really soak in the beginning of summer before we're flat out.
